What does November mean for you?

Television adverts are full of fairies and magic, penguins and presents, promising smiling faces at Christmas.

Of course, it isn't like that for everyone.

In 1844, when London was more polluted than it is now, the poet Thomas Hood wrote:

No sun - no moon!

No morn - no noon -

No dawn - no dusk -

no proper time of day.

No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,

No comfortable feel in any member -

No shade, no shine,

No butterflies, no bees,

No fruits, no flowers,

No leaves, no birds!

- November!

If you are feeling empty and bleak, or stressed and anxious, counselling can help.
